Common People 7: The Battle of Britpop

Thursday 14 May 2020, 8pm - 1am

OPEN Norwich | Over 18s

OPEN Youth Trust | 20 Bank Plain, Norwich, Norfolk, NR2 4SF

Who can remember the Battle of Britpop? When Oasis and Blur dominated the news bulletins and national media front pages as they battled to see who would secure the highly-coveted number one slot.

Well, to mark 25 years since Blur’s Country House triumphed over the Manchester band’s Roll With It, a very special night of amazing music will be held in Norwich.  The people behind East Anglia’s biggest and best 90s britpop, indie and dance night are delighted to announce their next big show.

Common People 7: The Battle of Britpop will see the 1995 clash resurrected as two of the country’s best tribute bands perform at OPEN Norwich in the city centre on Friday, May 15 2020.

Oasish and BLURry will each perform a set of their respective bands’ classics before the audience decides who wins the battle of britpop – a quarter of a decade on.

The night will also feature the usual Common People DJs across two rooms, playing a total of 10 hours of the best music from a much-loved era.

And expect all the other usual goodies including badges, great giveaways, The People Playlist and much, much more!  Common People launched nearly three years ago and previous guests have included Bez, Steve Lamacq, Rick Witter (Shed 7), Dave Rowntree (Blur), Mark Morriss (The Bluetones) and Nigel Clarke (Dodgy).

The event runs from 8pm to 1am and is for over 18s only.

Please note, we won't be posting out physical or E-Tickets tickets for this event. All you will need to do is go along, just before the start of the event with your order number (which is given in your confirmation email) and some form of ID.
