The LCR is a live music venue and nightclub situated in on the campus of the University of East Anglia and run by the Union of UEA Students.
As well as attracting some of the world’s top bands, The LCR also plays host to two weekly club nights and a number of special events such as balls, which are held for the University’s student population.
Dating back over 30 years, the LCR has played host to acts such as U2, Manic Street Preachers, Kasabian, Faithless, Stereophonics, Duran Duran, Eurythmics, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Iron Maiden, Coldplay, Robbie Williams who performed his first post-Take That gig on their stage, and many more.
We have a full bar available during every gig, at the back of the venue, with a large selection of draught, bottles and spirits available. We accept card and cash. We use reusable cups that take a £1 refundable deposit.
The cloakroom is at the back of the venue, next to the merch stand - items are charged at £1.50 each and the cloakroom is cash only.
We have a range of other services available to you for before the show:
Unio - We have a full barista style coffee shop in the Hive (adjacent to the LCR) serving our own blend of coffee and snacks. Open until 9pm Monday to Friday and 7pm on weekends.
The pub - is available and open to gig goers before every gig for that pre-show pint, we also have a range of yummy pizzas, hotdogs, sides and wraps available if you didn't get time for dinner. Post show pints are available - subject to show.
The shop - on campus is open until 11pm Monday to Saturday and 8pm on Sundays, if you want to grab a bite to eat before the show.

This is an attempt to list all the events that the Students Union organised over the last 50 plus years. I was inspired to research and compile the list following the sudden loss of Nick Rayns in April 2013 (pictured below).
Nick was my friend and colleague for 34 years and, in my opinion, headed the finest gig programme of any Student Union in the country.
I'm aware that the list below doesn't include the hundreds of charity events, Thursday LCRs, Club Retros, Tuesday fancy dress nights, Beat Pharmacy, SkoolDaze, Brighton Rocks, Now 90s, the Other Ones, poetry readings, band competitions, dance Shows and plays. But hopefully some of your highlights and memories are here. To the best of my knowledge everything is correct, but I would be pleased to hear from anyone who has further information.
