Public Speaking Training

In 5 consecutive two hour sessions, you will get the tools on how to write a good public talk/speech and in hands-on interactive workshop you will increase your confidence and skills to become an engaging speaker!

On the 14th March the UEA will be part of World Speech Day again, see http://www.worldspeechday.com/ and TEDx Norwich have reserved a slot for one UEA student to speak. By taking part, you will get the chance to speak live at TEDx!

This session runs over five days: 

• Monday 18th February (15:00-17:00, C.Hall 0.13)
• Tuesday 19th February (15:00-17:00, C.Hall 0.13)
• Wednesday 20th February (15:00-17:00, C.Hall 0.13)
• Thursday 21st February (15:00-17:00, C.Hall 0.13)
• Friday 22nd February (15:00-17:00, C.Hall 0.13)

Booking onto this session will grant you access to all five days of training. Attending all sessions are advised, but not compulsory.

What is Do Something Different?

The Do Something Different Programme is about trying a new activity and sparking your interests! We aim to encourage greater student interaction from across schools, liberations and courses that build your knowledge and skills as individuals. Perhaps you've been looking to try a new sport, attending a live music performance, or dabbling in an academic subject that piques your interest? We collate a wide variety of different activities happening across campus - from sports and games, to trips and extracurricular lectures! 

There's always something happening every single day, and most events are absolutely free or cost very little! The best events will return during the Do Something Different Festival in Semester Two - a week-long celebration in which teaching is suspended for you to try a huge range of activities! Stay tuned for the full Festival programme coming soon!
