Norwich Box Office - UEA LCR and Waterfront tickets

Adnams Brewery and Shopping Trip

Friday 22 February 2019, 9:15am - 6pm

Meet outside Congregation Hall

Sample the finest beverages and spirits by the sea, including a trip into the scenic town of Southwold.

Leaving UEA at 09.30am the coach will take you to The Adnams Brewery in Southwold.

Once you arrive, there will be two tours, one of the Brewery and one of the Distillery. With this ticket you will be able to visit both the brewery and the distillery.

Brewery Tour

You will learn how Adnams produces its award-winning beers. We start with the history of brewing here in Southwold and of Adnams as a company and then take you through the process of how we make our beers today. You will see behind the scenes, inside the brewery and learn the process we follow to make our beers. Finally, we finish with a tasting session where you get to sample some of our current cask, keg and packaged products.

Distillery Tour

You will learn about Adnams distillery, which was installed in 2010. We will teach you our ‘grain to glass’ story and explain how we start with a beer wash  made I the brewery and end up with our range of award-winning spirits. We will show you our distillery and take you in the cellars where we store our whisky barrels. There you get to sample a range of our spirits including our vodkas, gins, whiskys and flavoured spirits such as Limocello.

After the tours you’ll head to the café for lunch at approximately 1.30pm. After lunch you’ll have 1 ½ to 2 hours for some shopping around Southwold (at your own expense) before the coach departs Southwold at 4pm.

All of this for a special Do Something Difference price of £20 per person. Normal price would be £37.12.

Please purchase a ticket above to book your place. Where possible, we will try to give a 100% refund if 1 weeks’ notice of cancellation is given. Refunds with off-campus trips are not guarenteed.

What is Do Something Different?

The Do Something Different Programme is about trying a new activity and sparking your interests! We aim to encourage greater student interaction from across schools, liberations and courses that build your knowledge and skills as individuals. Perhaps you've been looking to try a new sport, attending a live music performance, or dabbling in an academic subject that piques your interest? We collate a wide variety of different activities happening across campus - from sports and games, to trips and extracurricular lectures!

There's always something happening every single day, and most events are absolutely free or cost very little! The best events will return during the Do Something Different Festival in Semester Two - a week-long celebration in which teaching is suspended for you to try a huge range of activities! Stay tuned for the full Festival programme coming soon!

If you had a great time at a DSD event, make sure you head to the website and leave your feedback and stories! Tell us about your ideas and what you want to see under Do Something Different.
