Norwich Box Office - UEA LCR and Waterfront tickets

Muncie Girls

Friday 27 March 2020, 6:30pm - 10pm

Waterfront Studio

Hey everybody, as a lot of you have already predicted, we’re having to cancel the UK shows that were starting next week. We’ve already rearranged a few of them for August and all original tickets remain valid for those shows. Refunds from point of purchase for the shows we can’t rearrange or if you can’t make the new dates! And we’ll add some more shows down the line.

There’s plenty you can be doing to help people who really need it right now and the Tories haven’t been doing what they should to ease worries.

Anyway, while your primary concern should be helping people who are in dire straits, we were really looking forward to this tour. We haven’t toured in ages and we were relying on making some money to make up for what we lost when we were forced to cancel our American tour a while back! So all our merch is on our bandcamp page and all our music is pay what you want to download. www.munciegirls.bandcamp.com

Look after each other and remember that stress and anxiety will make you feel so much worse. So if there’s anything you can do to help yourself or anyone else freaking the fuck out then do!!

Indie rock troupe Muncie Girls will be heading back out on the road in March for their first shows in well over six months, having most recently played the main stage at 2000trees festival last summer. Prior to that, they’d spent much of 2018 and 2019 touring, sharing stages with the likes of Taking Back Sunday, Frank Iero and The Get Up Kids in the UK & Europe, as well as playing shows as far away from home as Australia and Japan.

Muncie Girls’ latest album ‘Fixed Ideals’ was released in 2018 via Specialist Subject Records in the UK & Europe and Buzz Records in North America with Lost Boy Records doing the honors in Australia. The record has been praised for its insightful social commentary and endearing melodies. As much as it  feels like you’re being read passages direct from vocalist and guitarist Lande Hekt’s diary, with her ideas and heart laid bare, the songs within will also be relatable to many and are certainly thought-provoking.

‘Fixed Ideals’ tackles themes of anxiety and mental health head on, as well as delving into the effects of too much alcohol and wasting potential. It speaks of having a desire to be educated, focusing on personal relationships and the importance of friendship and family.
