About Event

This is the band to follow, because swim school aren’t waiting for an invitation to become your new favourite band – they’re coming to take it. Dork Magazine

When swim school stepped onto the stage at London’s 100 Club in January, the feeling of past meets future was palpable. Stepping onto the same stage, under that low ceiling and with the walls around them adorned by images of artists who really meant something, the band knew they had something to prove not just to the sold out crowd, but to themselves.

“That show was a huge moment for us” says guitarist Lewis. “Since the last time we played live we felt like we’d shed a skin and grown a new one, not just as a band but as people and songwriters.”

Playing as a four piece with the addition of a new touring bass player, stripping back the tech but adding real muscle, the band played the set of their lives –  a performance that etches itself into the 100 Club’s history books, and into swim school’s own story as something uniquely special.” Dork.

And it’s with that same fearless energy and expansive poise that swim school release Alone With You, the second track from their upcoming eponymously titled debut album to be released on October 3rd 2025.

“We thought this was the perfect song to release to send a clear signal about the direction in which we’re travelling and it really feels like the band we’re supposed to bes” says Billy “which is why we decided to call the album ‘swim school’….because it really is…”

“Alone With You was recorded during our second big album session with Iain Berryman (Pale Waves, Beebadoobee, Sam Fender) and we recorded it almost without thinking, like everything coming together in perfect moment between us” Alice explains “which is cool because it’s really a song about the safety of being in that company that allows you to truly be at peace.”

The band also announce their biggest tour to date, one which will take them to Ireland and Europe as headline artists for the first time.

Stepping up to the scene as ‘One of the most exciting young rock bands to emerge’ (HotPress), Basht. have quickly impressed crowds across Europe, and now look forward to the release of their sophomore EP ‘Bitter & Twisted’ – produced by Richard McNamara of Embrace.

Following on from a year supporting Wunderhorse, Been Stellar & Goo Goo Dolls, as well as festival slots including Electric Picnic and All Together Now, the Dublin-based band sold out 2 consecutive tours of the UK & Ireland in 2024, in the light of their debut EP ‘Dirty White Lies’ produced by Thom Lewis (Sam Fender), which set the scene for an already-rampant year in 2025.

Basht. now take on their largest headline tour to date the Spring, including shows in Dublin, London, Manchester & Paris, as well as appearances at tastemaker festivals, Liverpool Sound City, The Great Escape and Dot To Dot.
