UEA Midsoc are excited to invite you all to our End of Year Midwifery Ball

UEA Midsoc are excited to invite you all to our End of Year Midwifery Ball 2019! 

For the first time our Midwifery Society is bringing all three cohorts together for an End of Year Ball. This is an opportunity for all student midwives to come together and celebrate the completion of their first, second or third year at the UEA! We wanted to make this evening all about celebrating all the hard-work that has been completed by every single on of us throughout this academic year, and have some fun together before we all go off and enjoy our (short) summer holidays! 

The celebrations will commence around 7:30pm at The Oaklands Hotel (89 Yarmouth Road, Norwich, NR7 0HH), on Sunday the 21st of July. Tickets cost £35.50 and will include a 2 course meal and a drink on arrival. We would invite you to dress up formally. Our theme is Masquerade Ball, so masques and exciting dresses are encouraged, but not a requirement of course. You will be happy to know we have a photographer booked for the evening, so you can capture these special moments, and make the memories last! The venue also has a Photo Booth on site (these photos will be able to be purchased on the evening). The professional photos taken by our booked photographer, will be free and accessible not long after then event itself.

Once everyone has arrived and settled and initial pictures have been taken, we will sit down for our two course meal (menu below). A bar is set up at the venue and you will be able to buy more drinks there throughout the evening. Following the meal, we will have an awards ceremony. We have come up with some funny awards, and 5 people from each cohort will be nominated by their peers in the same year. Voting for these awards will take place when you purchase your ticket, through the SU website (please choose from your cohort only). As we are also hoping some of our lecturers will be attending, we are hoping to think of some awards to hand out to the lecturers to thank them for their continuous support, these will be confirmed at a later date!  You will be able to inform us of any dietary requirements and nominate who you think should win each award! We will also have a small acknowledgement of our graduating third year students midwives, as they leave us to enter the professional world.

Following on from the awards, a DJ will be playing for us. The rest of the evening is left for dancing, more photos, more drinks and more fun! The evening will end at 12.00 am.

We are working hard to make this an event that everyone will enjoy, and we really hope we see every student midwife in the room, as we all deserve to celebrate what has been for all of us a challenging year of learning!
