Bereavement study day provided by the charity Beyond Bea

Beyond Bea is a charity focusing on raising awareness about baby loss and bereavement and educating health care professionals in order to improve bereavement care.

We recognise that not all health professionals deliver the same high standard of care when diagnosing and supporting families during the loss of a baby. This is often due to lack of training and inexperience

 

The full day agenda will include:

  • Molar Pregnancy

  • Ectopic Pregnancy

  • Medical Termination / Compassionate Induction

  • Stillbirth

  • Neonatal Death

  • The ‘cycle’ of grief 

  • Breaking bad news

  • Caring for a bereaved family

  • Recent research and guidelines

  • Parents accounts from guest speakers

  • Post Mortem consent and procedures

  • Funerals

  • Religion

  • Support following the loss of a baby

All attendees will receive a certificate of attendance and printed resources.

Interactive Memory Making Workshop (max. 60 attendees)

The workshop incorporates many aspects of memory making that are offered in hospital and hospice settings including:

  • Memory boxes - we have an array of memory boxes offered by various charities to see options available to families

  • Inkless hand and foot prints - an opportunity to create hand and foot prints use of specialist dolls 

  • Clay imprints - hands on experience of how to prepare and create clay imprints and personalise these for families.

  • Photographs - Access our memory book which is filled with photographs provided to us to help educate, learn basic skills to create photographs for everlasting memories for families without the need for expensive equipment or photography knowledge.

  • 3D Casting - learn the basic principles of creating casts to provide these to families.

 

 

Lunch will be provided on the day. A large percentage of the ticket fee will be donated to the charity.
