About Event

Norwich Arts Centre | 51 St Benedicts Street, Norwich, NR2 4PG

$ebbuku. Rapper, producer, stereo warrior. Hailing from Norwich at 21 years old, $ebbuku has been making brutal beats for over five years, handing a jaw splintering uppercut to mainstream hip hop. The relentless young artist began making explosive tracks throughout some of his most testing times, placing all his stories, experiences and ‘realness’ into his music. For his live performances your sucker punched with a full band lineup, cutting up beats like grime-punk butchers. Almost all of Buku’s music is self produced, using a mix of old school, hands on sampling and post-punk influences to smash you with the hardcore, Jazz inflicted hip-hop. Having made a name for himself on his local scene, $ebbuku (Sebastian Bates) has gained early support from the likes of BBC Introducing, Reprezent, DMY, Earmilk, Notion among others. Playing packed out shows across the East of the UK and at festivals including Brighten The Corners, $ebbuku has also performed live and been interviewed on BBC Local News.

If you’re hunting for an artist with thumping beats and immense mosh pits… You’ve found him!

“Blends raw storytelling with hypnotic beats, capturing $ebbuku’s personal struggles and growth” – Earmilk

“Pumped with passion, his dynamic, bass-driven hip-hop is leveraged as an outlet to share his stories and experiences.” – DMY

“Rooted in inventive production and live instrumentation” – God Is In The TV
