Having just played to a 20,000+ crowd at Elland Road alongside The Vaccines and Kaiser Chiefs and supported Foals in Hamburg this month, fast-rising UK indie quartet Marsicans release their bombastic new single ‘Little Things’ on June 18th through LAB Records. A song about the quintessential little things in life, it was produced by Mickey Dale and mixed / mastered by multi-Grammy award winning duo of Fernando Lodeiro (Paul McCartney, Vampire Weekend) and Joe LaPorta (David Bowie, Imagine Dragons). Speaking about the single, Marsicans bassist/vocalist Rob Brander explains, "Little Things is a song about the little things in life that keep you going. It began in rehearsal when James played us a frenetic guitar riff, accompanied by a lyric about being ‘lost in the bread aisle’. We didn’t worry too much about structure, letting the energy in the room dictate where we should take the song next. We ended up with lots of twists and turns - and quite a lot of grit in places. The lyrics were finished over a cup of tea at (drummer) Cale’s, after an enjoyable writing process which featured lists of things that made us all happy. There were some gems that never made the cut, like a line about dropping your toast and it landing butter-side up. As always, our producer Mickey Dale helped us get the best out of the tune in the studio, on a healthy diet of poppadoms, and our friend Fern (Grammy-winning producer/mixer Fernando Lodeiro) delivered a mix that had us all totally buzzing."

Following the release of their earlier 2019 single ‘Your Eyes’ things continued to gain pace for Marsicans ("MAR-sick-anz"). ‘Your Eyes’ saw them rack up their 7th consecutive New Music Friday UK playlisting, multiple plays from Annie Mac, as well as further Radio 1 support from Phil Taggart on the Hype Chart & Huw Stephens on Introducing, plus Radio X evening playlist and a John Kennedy Recommends feature. 'Your Eyes' was also picked up by C4 Sunday Brunch, Made In Chelsea, MTV Rocks, The Box/Kerrang TV and BT Sport & BT Music TV playlist. Not to mention a Vevo DSCVR session, a  UK #1 7” vinyl chart placing, a headline tour with BBC’s Abbie McCarthy in the Spring, as well as packed showcases at TGE and Live At Leeds. With high-profile main stage slots coming up at Truck and Tramlines festivals next month, Marsicans have also just announced their biggest headline to date at the 1000-cap Stylus in Leeds and are readying their debut album for release later this year.

‘Little Things’ and ‘Your Eyes’ are the follow-ups to Marsicans 2018 single releases ‘Suburbs’, summer-jam ‘Pop-Ups (Sunny at the Weekend)’, and ‘Wake Up Freya’. The Leeds band went from strength to strength in 2018: a sold-out UK tour, BBC Radio 1 stage slots at Reading and Leeds, main tour supports to Fickle Friends, JAWS, Clean Cut Kid and US indie band Hippo Campus in the UK and Europe. Not to mention live sessions filmed for BBC's legendary Maida Vale studios, Mahogany and Distiller, a Samsung Galaxy worldwide ad sync and tracks featured on MTV, BT Sport and the opening credits of E4's Made In Chelsea.

Media support comes by way of Sunday Times’ ‘Hottest Tracks’ (Pop-Ups (Sunny at the Weekend)), Dork, CLASH, All Things Go, Earmilk, Wonderland, The 405, Official Charts and #2 on Hype Machine's Top 10 Most Blogged Artists of the week for ‘Pop-Ups (Sunny at the Weekend)’.
