OPEN Norwich - Banking Hall | 14+

OPEN Youth Trust | 20 Bank Plain | Norwich | Norfolk | NR2 4SF

‘Norwich is an enchanting place… music emanates from littlehubs of creativity scattered across the city and down every winding path there’s something wild to discover.’

Wild Paths is a brand new city-wide music festival launching this year in Norwich.

Performing in the Banking Hall at OPEN will be:

Jose Gonzalez

Born to Argentine parents in the suburbs of Gothenburg, Sweden in 1978, Jose Gonzalez rose to fame in 2003 with his single "Heartbeats" and the accompanying album, "Veneer."

An entirely acoustic indie/folk affair, the album revealed the influences of Latin America music he listened to when he was growing up.

He released his second album, "In Our Nature" in 2007, which continued the formula of Gonzalez and his classical guitar.

With his crystal-clear singing voice and vibrant, classically-inspired playing, José González is one of today’s most remarkable artists – testament to the irrefutable ability of one man and a guitar.

Jordan Mackampa

The Coventry raised, London based singer is the perfect combination of his Congolese roots and midlands upbringing. His soul soaked, deeply personal tracks swim in the sounds and stories of the cities he’s inhabited over the years. Inspired by his mother’s love of the great soul singers, Marvin Gaye, Bill Withers and Curtis Mayfield, Jordan combines his timeless vocal with catchy melodies and heart felt lyrics to create a soulful sound which will enchant and uplift in equal measure.

Jordan has previously been supported by the likes of NME, Wonderland, Clash, Mahogany & The Line of Best Fit; built up over 30M streams across previous releases & has sold out 4 headline shows in London, played support slots at Village Underground, Shepherd’s Bush Empire and Hyde Park’s British Summertime.

New Music will be coming soon and will firmly position him as one of the best up and coming British male soul singers.

Yazmin Lacey

Yazmin Lacey sings with the directness and emotional clarity of classic soul. Having written in her bedroom for her whole life, she began to play acoustic shows in 2014. As her reputation grew locally in Nottingham, she came to meet the diverse group of musicians who would form her band.

Together, they’ve written an EP which combines Yazmin’s incisive songwriting with the vitality of jazz. Her sound resonates with lovers of soulful and honest music. ‘Brilliant singer/songwriter and great new name for the UK’ Gilles Peterson July 2017.
