Navigate Norfolk: Social Cycling

Saturday 11 May 2019, 10am - 11:30am

Meet outside the Sportspark Entrance

This is your chance to explore the wonderful Norfolk countryside on two wheels – borrow one of our bikes and join our recreational rides, every Saturday at 10am, for free!

The group will head out at a social pace, pedal to a café for a half-way pit stop, then spin back to UEA. Students of all abilities who feel confident cycling on roads are welcome to come along to these group rides.

Don’t worry if you think you’re too slow – the speed will allow every rider who attends to comfortably keep up. The rides will be about an hour long, with a short break in the middle to rehydrate and refuel.

Make the most of your time at UEA and experience what the surrounding area has to offer, clear your head and meet new people while getting active.

Bikes, helmets and high-vis jackets are available to borrow if you don’t have your own. Please bring some change for the café stop. You’ll need to wear trainers and clothing suitable for cycling – something that gives you freedom of movement and will keep you warm and dry if it’s raining, gloves if it’s cold.

What is Do Something Different?

The Do Something Different Programme is about trying a new activity and sparking your interests! We aim to encourage greater student interaction from across schools, liberations and courses that build your knowledge and skills as individuals. Perhaps you've been looking to try a new sport, attending a live music performance, or dabbling in an academic subject that piques your interest? We collate a wide variety of different activities happening across campus - from sports and games, to trips and extracurricular lectures!

There's always something happening every single day, and most events are absolutely free or cost very little! The best events will return during the Do Something Different Festival in Semester Two - a week-long celebration in which teaching is suspended for you to try a huge range of activities! Stay tuned for the full Festival programme coming soon!

If you had a great time at a DSD event, make sure you head to the website and leave your feedback and stories! Tell us about your ideas and what you want to see under Do Something Different.

Keep up to date with all of our DSD events by checking our Calendar (www.uea.su/dsd), and follow us on Twitter at @UEASU_DSD.
