The Force is calling - learn to wield a lightsaber in the Do Something Different Festival!

In an hour of action-packed duelling - bought to you by Squire Stage Combat School - learn to wield a lightsaber from a Jedi Master.

Over the session, you'll come to grips with your blade and master the basics of duelling your opponent. This session is interactive, and suitable for all skill levels.  

Each session has a maximum of 30 people, and three different sessions will be running throughout the day: at 12:00pm, 1:30pm and 3:00pm. Each session will cover the same content, so you only need book your space on one. 

We're subsidising all costs of this activity to bring it to you for free!

Overbooking

Due to a number of no shows for events, each free event will be overbooked by 10% please turn up to your event 10 minutes early, if you are late you could lose your place.

If the event you would like to attend is fully booked, please do turn up on the day, with any money if needed, we will add you onto the event on a first come, first served bases, if people don’t show up. Please make yourself known to the Ambassador or register attendant.

 

Accessibility

We're committed to making sure all Do Something Different events are as accessible as possible for all students.

This event requires physical activity, and may not be suitable for wheelchair users.

What is Do Something Different?

The Do Something Different Programme is about trying a new activity and sparking your interests! We aim to encourage greater student interaction from across schools, liberations and courses that build your knowledge and skills as individuals. Perhaps you've been looking to try a new sport, attending a live music performance, or dabbling in an academic subject that piques your interest? We collate a wide variety of different activities happening across campus - from sports and games, to trips and extracurricular lectures! 

There's always something happening every single day, and most events are absolutely free or cost very little! The best events will return during the Do Something Different Festival in Semester Two - a week-long celebration in which teaching is suspended for you to try a huge range of activities!
