Norwich Box Office - UEA LCR and Waterfront tickets

Richard Alston Dance Company @ Theatre Royal

Friday 22 February 2019, 7pm - 9:30pm

Norwich Theatre Royal

Richard Alston has been making dance for 50 years. Celebrate his half-century with a trip to see his trademark lyrical choreography performed by undoubtedly one of the world's best dance ensembles.

The evening centres around exciting World Premieres by Richard Alston and associate choreographer Martin Lawrance. Alston's Brahms Hungarian is set to the hugely popular Brahms pieces, featuring live solo pianist Jason Ridgway, where the dancers are carried along by fast steps and an abandoned fervour. Detour, Lawrance's new work, set to Michael Gordon's pulsing Timber, will be a companion piece to a celebratory revival of the beautiful Proverb, one of Alston's most telling choreographies set to the vocals of Steve Reich.

Please note that you will need to make your own way to the theatre and meet our DSD ambassador in the theatre foyer at 7pm. They will give you your tickets. You will also need to make your own way home after the show.

Normal price to see the show is £8. DSD price £4. Please note that bookings must be made via the DSD website and not Norwich Theatre Royal, in advance, to get this speical rate.

We cannot refund your ticket once we have purchased them with Norwich Thetare Royal. Please book by Monday 18th Feb 2019.

Please book your place above. Where possible, we will try to give a 100% refund if 1 weeks’ notice of cancellation is given. Please note that with off campus trips a refund might not be possible, unless another student takes yours place?.

What is Do Something Different?

The Do Something Different Programme is about trying a new activity and sparking your interests! We aim to encourage greater student interaction from across schools, liberations and courses that build your knowledge and skills as individuals. Perhaps you've been looking to try a new sport, attending a live music performance, or dabbling in an academic subject that piques your interest? We collate a wide variety of different activities happening across campus - from sports and games, to trips and extracurricular lectures!

There's always something happening every single day, and most events are absolutely free or cost very little! The best events will return during the Do Something Different Festival in Semester Two - a week-long celebration in which teaching is suspended for you to try a huge range of activities! Stay tuned for the full Festival programme coming soon!

If you had a great time at a DSD event, make sure you head to the website and leave your feedback and stories! Tell us about your ideas and what you want to see under Do Something Different.

Keep up to date with all of our DSD events by checking our Calendar (www.uea.su/dsd), and follow us on Twitter at @UEASU_DSD.
