Whitmore ‘Smoke the Roach’ 20th Anniversary Tour

Forming in 2001 Whitmore were immediately signed to independent label Moon Ska Europe and very quickly hit the UK ska-punk touring scene, establishing themselves as one of the big 5 alongside King Prawn, Spunge, 4ft Fingers and Capdown.

Their debut album ‘Smoke the Roach’ soon followed in 2002, outselling many of its major label counterparts in the UK.

The album contained three singles, ‘Alison’, ‘On the Ceiling’ and ‘Scones’. All of which went on to be number one in both P-Rock TV and Scuzz’s video request charts. ‘On the Ceiling’ was adopted by P-Rock as the channel’s theme music and album track ’29 Times’ was released as a free download and was downloaded 75,000 times in a month

In the 4 years that followed Whitmore went on numerous headline and support tours all over the UK and mainland Europe, playing over 1100 shows.

Since 2005 Whitmore have only hit the road twice and play an annual show at the Ska-Punk Showdown which is organised by Robb Whitmore making this run of shows all the more special.

2022 will see Whitmore reforming to mark 20 years of this iconic album with a very exclusive run of club shows and festivals.
